Bicycle Racing Returns to Trexlertown

One of Pennsylvania's best kept secrets is the Valley Preferred Cycling Center velodrome (known by cyclists as "T-Town" for the Borough of Trexlertown in the Lehigh Valley where it is located). T-Town is an international destination for top track cyclists, and the place where local bicycle racers are forged. With Lehigh County entering the "Yellow" and anticipated "Green" phases of the Governor's mitigation plan training for our athletes resumed on June 8th, and now we anticipate the return to racing.

Track racing can seem esoteric to the uninitiated spectator with strange sounding races like the Keirin, the Madison, the "Miss and Out," and the Omnium for example. But if you've never been out for a night on the track, you don't have to be an expert to enjoy the power, skill and beauty of the sport. Better still, the velodrome is a family-friendly night with cheap admission, amazing concessions, and set in a the beautiful Lehigh Valley.

While spectators won't return to T-Town for a bit, we want to extend congratulations to CB East Senior Danielle Shumskas who made her first appearance for our team in the amateur team time trial on Saturday, June 20th. Danielle is a comeback story herself after missing a significant portion of the 2019 season while she sought treatment for Graves Disease. You can also mark Saturday as the first start for our women's elite program. We are committed to many more.
