Memorial Day Weekend is one of the busiest on the East Coast bicycle racing calendar. On Saturday, Colin Kelly (Ottsville), Chris Baccash (Doylestown), and Andy Dudle (Emmaus) competed in the Men's Cat 1-2-3 Kirkwood Road Race in Lancaster County, PA with Andy gathering 15th overall. Meanwhile, in Chris Meacham (Doylestown) and Wes Kline (Emmaus) competed in the first day of the historic Tour of the Somerville by competing in the Bound Brook Criterium. While it wasn't our day in Bound Brook, Chris Meacham really showed signs of coming into form as he begins his 2019 season in earnest.

On Sunday night, Andy Dudle raced head-to-head against the sprinters in the Tour of the Somerville Street Sprint Competition. Racers reach speeds of 45 mph on Somerville's Main Street. Andy placed 5th overall in a preview of Monday's main event.

The Tour of Somerville in nearby Somerville, NJ is America's oldest existing bicycle race having first taken to the town's streets in 1941. Colin Kelly and Chris Baccash raced in the frenetic Category 2/3 race. While this flat, four corner criterium race doesn't complement either's fitness, endurance and ability to climb - Chris Baccash was rewarded for his early season training, racing and persistence finishing 22nd overall in a wild field sprint.

Andy Dudle, Chris Meacham, Wes Kline and Jason Wood (Lansdale)represented Doylestown in the Pro Category 1 "Kugler-Anderson" 50 mile Criterium that featured some of the best bike racers on the East Coast including Olympian Bobby Lea. This was a race that featured constant attacks, breakaways, and counter-attacks. Andy Dudle finished in 21st place in a wild field sprint that earned him a $75.00 cash prize. Beers on Andy!
